Hotel Riu Negril

Hotel Riu Negril

This February, I stayed all-inclusive for the first time ever at the Hotel Riu Negril Jamaica and I absolutely loved it.

My family and I stayed in a double room, of which I don’t have a single photo because I am a truly terrible blogger, and within minutes of entering it we’d trashed the place. But here’s a photo from the site for reference. The room featured a mini bar, which was basically an actual bar at your disposal, incidentally, this I did take a photo of. Priorities.

Our room was just like this. Plush pillows, atop crips white linen. Wooden varnished furniture throughout.

The room also featured a beautiful bathroom and balcony which overlooked the courtyard of the building block, and also the beach. We stayed in building One which was the closest to all the hotel’s facilities of restaurants and bars. Location, location, location! We really lucked out.

The resort compound truly was gorgeous; Grecian influenced white buildings lined the yellow sands of Bloody Bay beach, looking out over waters that gently swayed to and fro whilst reflecting the picturesque powder blue of the skies above.

The hotel boasts a 24-hour all-inclusive service. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served consecutively from 7am until 10pm. Upon the end of dinner service, the Rastaman Bar and Sports bar are open till midnight and throughout the night respectively, to continue serving up drinks and snacks.

Staff are never without a smile, and all too happy to help at every opportunity. It was evident that the hotel operated like a well-oiled machine. Between dinner services, bartending and cleaning, everyone had their role to play to ensure the customer experience was seamless. And truly it was. It felt like this surreal existence in which you just had to will for something and it was there.

You want something to eat?
Depending on the time, head to the corresponding restaurant,
and have a buffet or a-la-carte to choose from.

You thirsty?
Head to one of six bars, and request literally any drink.
Someone will be able to whip it up for you.

You bored?
There’s a full gym, spa, games to play, and nightly entertainment.

Wanna chillax in lush surroundings?
There’s a billion deck chairs along the mile-long beach – pick one!

We stayed only two nights, but there are definitely enough restaurants, activities, entertainment and cocktails on the drinks list for you to stay well occupied at this resort for weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and would definitely try another all-inclusive in the future.
