After many years of thinking about it, dreaming about it, and hashtagging it (see insta bio) – I, Charlotte Gray, am finally going remote y’all! #RoadtoRemote
- No more trying to strategically plot my 25 annual leave days throughout the work year for maximum holiday time
- No more sighing to myself wondering what life would be like if I could go where I wanted, when I wanted
- And most importantly no more quaking at lengthy emails threatening the inevitable returning to office
The time is here! The time is now!

no more commuting for now – truly the end of an era!

I may miss some of these views a bit though!
Out of Office On – Forever?!
After 18 months plus of working from home, I found a completely remote job. Not just remote for now, or remote until next year, but remote – forever. I genuinely used to think being a remote worker and location independent was a privilege afforded to the lucky few – basically just Engineers and Developers. This was the reason I kept persisting with Javascript even though we clearly do not like each other.
But alas, remote work is not just for tech folk and there’s a plethora of remote opportunities for those willing to apply – you just have to know where to look and be persistent – just as with any job search (more on this later!).
What’s next?
Breathing life back into this blog that’s been gathering dust. I’m rolling my eyes too, I know I’ve said this several times before. The past year(s) put a pause on me wanting to share anything, but that’s not to say I haven’t had anything to share! I’m looking forward to doing so in my next chapter, which I already have a feeling is going to be a pretty big one.
I’ve quit my current job, and booked a flight. I’ll be starting my new gig in December and bringing in the New Year with friends old and new on the beach. I can’t wait to take you on this new journey with me.
